Audrey and Ryan got engaged a couple of weeks before coming to Amsterdam from San Francisco. They wanted some classic Amsterdam shots to commemorate their trip and engagement. The weather on the day of the shoot wasn’t what we expected. Audrey didn’t get to wear the outfit she picked out for the shoot because it was way too cold for it. And I didn’t get to make the golden hour shots I am so fond of because it was an overcast day. But we made it work anyway and the shoot was a blast! Can’t expect anything less when I have such a gorgeous couple in love in front of my lens! Good luck planning your wedding, guys! I’m sure it’s going to be amazing!
If you’re considering booking a headshot session with me, know that my approach to creating business headshots is more laid-back and lifestyle than you might expect from someone else. You will end up with beautiful images that you can use for your website, your LinkedIn profile and other social media outlets.

Before I dive deep into editing my first wedding of the season, here’s a recent loveshoot for you. One sunny evening mid-March I met this young couple for a photo walk along the river Amstel, which included the spot where they met for a first date. Aren’t they the cutest?
Exactly one year ago today I went ahead and registered my photography business at the Chamber of Commerce. I’d already done a couple dozen shoots by that time (a bunch of them for free because I was building my portfolio again from the bottom up here in the Netherlands) and I noticed that inquiries just kept coming so making it official seemed like the logical next step.
In the course of that first year in business I met and photographed a lot of amazing people. I learned to track time, improved my photography workflow and got familiar with the Dutch tax system.
There are still weeks when my calendar is empty and I have to work hard to keep myself busy but I’m happy I’m doing my thing and staying true to myself, making people happy in the process. All of which wouldn’t be possible without the support and constant encouragement of my boyfriend.
My second year is shaping up to be even more awesome. With more (hopefully) new shoots, a new website going online later this year with a new logo that I was fortunate enough to outsource to a professional this time.
I am so grateful for every person and every couple that has chosen me over other photographers in what turned out to be a very saturated market. To all the people I got to photograph last year – THANK YOU! To my upcoming and prospect clients – I can’t wait to meet you and make some beautiful memories together!
Oh, and did you know that you can also find me on Facebook and Instagram? These are the social media outlets I am most active on right now. So feel free to check them out for more frequent updates and sneak peaks.
Time flies when you’re having fun. My first couple shoot of the year was a blast, to say the least. And if someone wasn’t running low on hot chocolate (Cheryl) then we would have probably kept going with the shoot for another hour or so. And the fun didn’t stop after the shoot was over. Not for me it didn’t. All the time I spent editing the photos the smile didn’t leave my face. You tell me if your lips don’t involuntarily curve upwards when you look at these two.
